BaseCode & Parameter / Map Change Updates

Sorry for all the newb questions.
Just wanted to confirm that for any given basecode, if I make changes to any Main Parameter fields, will those will live update without needing a reflash? Or does that only apply to the tuning maps in the main layout (ign, fuel, etc) ?
I did look in help, and found this page http://ktuner.com/KTunerHelp/tuning_map ... 3D&mw=MjQw, but it doesn't say anything about live updating.
EDIT - OK, I found this page also,

So I have to check for the live status indicator. Does that apply to monitors also, or do those require a reflash?
It sucks that you don't have a downloadable version of the In-ECU interface & Software Operation sections. I can't even print pages from it to reference, they don't display properly for print purposes. I wouldn't need to ask so many questions if I had a hard copy to browse at will.
