What is the logic for how the various DBW mapping tables work together and affect driving behavior?

For instance the "DBW Final" is based on RPM, but all others are based on vehicle speed?

The DBW final is the very final command table which takes the other throttle command values as an input. Others are limited prior to that and can be deduced by their naming.

Is there a website or book or something that explains everything in detail? If someone wanted to learn how to tweak these settings?
