Understanding AntiLag and Basic 2step

Post by Prozento »

Dear Ktuner
I am trying to understand the connection between AntiLag and Basic 2step.
Basic 2step is just a simple Rev limit when stand still and the AntiLag will hold the boost for longer?
Can I use Basic 2step (rev limit) without Antilag?

Looking forward for your reply

Antilag retards timing to help build boost.

Thank you for the answer
I get the basic meaning of the Anti lag system, still there is few questions I cant fully understand. Please tell me if I understand it right until now.
1.
If I just set Basic2step option in my New tune, with high and low rev limit, while I am standing still I will be able to use launch control in its basic setup.
2.
If I want to spool better and launch harder I need to add AntiLag in the tune
3.
To set the AntiLag in the right way I need to take the middle RPM (between high and low rev limit from 1.) And retard the ignition. Good number to Start from is -5.
4.
If I start hearing "Boom" coming from my exhaust, its mean I retarded the timing too much and combustion happens when the exhaust is still opened (meaning some of the combustion happens not in the combustion chamber but in the exhaust system/turbocharger)

Looking forward for your reply

If you have anti-lag settings there's a box you enter the value into. There's no need to edit a table. If you don't have those settings you won't be able to properly do it.
