Can i unlock KTuner V2?

I discovered a secondhand K tuner V2 for around $100 while searching. The catch was that the prior owner had locked it, making it unusable for the current owner. When I emailed them, all they said was that they didn't encourage buying it, despite having said that if I buy it,retro bowl I can contact Ktuner and pay them $300 to unlock it. Should I purchase it and, if I can, have Ktuner unlock it?

You were discouraged from buying a locked unit and so you came to the forum to ask again whether you should or not? Am I understanding this correctly? The answer is the same.
