Reliability of Basemap in Beta Status

Post by b6221 »

Hi KTuner,

I finally made a purchase of KTuner V1.2 and currently in process of "translating" the calibration I created using the other tuning platform. The conversion process went well. I left KTuner tables only available in KTuner such as Fuel Cut, & DBW because the other platform doesn't have these tables.

I compared the fully supported maps vs. basemap with beta status. I assume basemap with beta status are still in testing/development stage.

Specifically for my ECU, Boost By Gear target is still under beta testing. Interestingly, I found the number of Disable/Monitor function in the beta calibration is lesser than the fully supported calibration.

I have no interest on ethanol and flex fuel but Boost By Gear limit is highly useful for CVT.

My question is: how reliable is the beta basemap?

It's actually a BETA codebase, not basemaps. The basemaps are the same. The features of the codebase are not.

I can understand that KTuner giving visibility to end user on what is coming for end users, especially for end users with ECU under initial support, and also for KTuner dealer to test new codebase.

Is the beta codebase safe for end user to use?

Yes. If it's incompatible with any of your systems go back to the normal one.
